5. Business Credit Data & Financial Information
Because BBC Better Business Credit handles sensitive business financial data, we apply heightened protections:
- EINs and business financial data are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption.
- Access to sensitive business data is restricted to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis.
- We do not use your EIN or business financial data for any purpose other than providing the Service.
- We are not a credit repair organization under the Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA). We provide tools and information to help you build credit; we do not dispute items on your behalf or guarantee credit score improvements.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal and business information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your data within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, regulatory, or legitimate business purposes (e.g., tax records, fraud prevention). Credit application records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by applicable financial regulations.
